I have enjoyed millions of rounds of vingt-et-un. I began sneaking into the gambling halls when I was sixteen. I have wagered on online twenty-one, I have counted cards, and worked with a team for a short time. With all that said I have still spent all kinds of cash at vingt-et-un. The gambling halls have made it very hard to defeat the house.
I still enjoy the game and gamble on a regular basis. Over the years I have enjoyed a variation of chemin de fer called "The Take it Leave it Method". You most certainly will not get loaded with this tactic or defeat the house, however you will have an abundance of fun. This method is based on the fact that 21 appears to be a game of streaks. When you’re hot your on fire, and when you are not you’re NOT!
I wager with basic strategy 21. When I don’t win I wager the table minimum on the subsequent hand. If I lose again I bet the lowest amount allowed on the subsequent hand again etc. As soon as I win I take the payout paid to me and I bet the original bet again. If I win this hand I then keep in play the winnings paid to me and now have double my original wager on the table. If I succeed again I take the payout paid to me, and if I succeed the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original bet. I keep betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I return the bet back down to the original amount.
I am very disciplined and never "chicken out". It gets very enjoyable at times. If you win a few hands in sequence your bets go up very fast. Before you know it you are betting $100-200/ hand. I have had awesome streaks a couple of times now. I left a $5 table at the Paris a number of years back with $750 after 35 mins using this technique! And a number of days ago in Las Vegas I left a game with $1200!
You need to understand that you can lose a great deal faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more enjoyable. And you will be amazed at the runs you witness playing this way. Below is a chart of what you would wager if you continue winning at a 5 dollar table.

Take $5 paid-out to you, leave the first 5 dollar wager
Bet 5 dollar
Leave 5 dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of ten dollar
Wager 10 dollar
Take $10 paid-out to you, leave the initial $10 bet
Wager $10
Leave 10 dollar paid to you for a total wager of $20
Wager $20
Take twenty dollar paid to you, leave the original $20 bet
Wager 20 dollar
Leave twenty dollar paid-out to you for a total wager of $40
Wager $40
Take $40 paid-out to you, leave the original 40 dollar wager
Wager 40 dollar
Leave forty dollar paid to you for a total wager of 80 dollar
Wager $80
Take $80 paid-out to you, leave the initial $80 wager
Bet eighty dollar
Leave 80 dollar paid to you for a total wager of 160 dollar
Wager one hundred and sixty dollar
Take $160 paid-out to you, leave the initial 160 dollar wager
If you departed at this instance you would be up $315 !!
It is iffy to go on a streak this long, but it will happen. And when it does you must NOT deviate and lower your wager or the final result will not be the same.
